Accessibility

1. Our commitment

Cortavia is committed to making its website at cortavia.sbs accessible to as wide an audience as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies or who have visual, motor, cognitive or hearing differences. Accessibility is a practical requirement of useful information, not an add-on.

This statement describes our current conformance position and what to do if you find a part of the site that does not work as it should for you.

2. Conformance target

Target: WCAG 2.1 Level AA · Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1

We work toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means the site aims to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for a wide range of users and assistive technologies.

3. Measures taken

The following practices are applied across this website:

  • Semantic HTML: pages use landmark elements (header, main, footer, nav), heading hierarchies and appropriate HTML elements throughout, so screen readers and other tools can interpret the structure correctly.
  • Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, the cookie preference dialog and the mobile navigation — are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible at all times.
  • Colour contrast: text and interactive elements are checked against a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their backgrounds. The design palette was selected with this threshold in mind.
  • Reduced-motion support: where motion is present, it respects the prefers-reduced-motion media query. No content depends on animation to be understood or reached.
  • Alt text: all meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so assistive technologies skip them.
  • Labelled form controls: every form input is associated with a visible label. Required fields are indicated both visually and programmatically.
  • Accessible dialog: the cookie consent dialog uses appropriate ARIA roles and is closable with the Escape key.

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where the site does not yet fully meet our target:

  • Third-party embedded content (specifically the Google Maps iframe) is outside our direct control. The embedded map may not be fully navigable by keyboard for all users. The office address is also available as plain text directly above the map.
  • Some content images sourced from Lorem Picsum during development may carry generic alt text until replaced by final photography with specific descriptions.

We address known issues as part of ongoing site maintenance and welcome reports of any other barriers you encounter.

5. Reporting an accessibility issue

If you find a part of this site that is not working as expected for you, or if you need content in an alternative format, contact us:

Please describe the page or feature you were using, the assistive technology or browser involved, and what happened. We aim to respond within five working days and to resolve straightforward issues within a reasonable period after that.
